November is National Gratitude Month, and the perfect time to honor local heroes with a deserving home comfort system or water heater through our 2024 ARS Cares Program, Supporting Community Heroes.
What Is ARS Cares?
The ARS Cares Program was established in 2016 to award heroic members of the community with a new HVAC unit or water heater. Since its inception, ARS/Rescue Rooter has provided more than 260 home service makeovers (HVAC units and water heaters) to worthy recipients while donating more than 2 million dollars in equipment and labor. And here’s the excellent news: You can nominate a local community hero in your neighborhood who needs a new HVAC unit or water heater.
What type of “heroes” can be nominated?
As the saying goes, not all heroes wear capes. Local or community heroes can be all types of folks—from medical personnel and daycare teachers to shelter workers and grocery store clerks; heroes come in all shapes and sizes. Community heroes are kind, helpful, and caring and often go above and beyond to help others because it’s simply in their nature. Think about the special people in your life who have brightened your days and made your life better. Who are those humble servants you rely on day in and day out for extra help?
Consider the following types of people*:
- Teachers
- Medical personnel
- Shelter workers
- Dog and cat rescuers
- Police and firefighters
- Pastors and church members
- Postal workers
- Neighbors who mow lawns and shovel snow
- Local librarians
- Pet sitters
- Elderly care workers
- School volunteers
(*Many people can qualify as heroes, not just the examples in our list. We encourage you to think outside the box about the folks who contribute to the good of your community.)
Why nominate a community hero?
Everyone deserves to be comfortable in their own home. But sometimes, we all need a little assistance. When you nominate a deserving local hero, they could become the recipient of a new heating and cooling system or water heater. Plus, they will have it installed for free by ARS/Rescue Rooter!
