It’s been about a year since HVAC professional Shane St. Pierre was credited for his bravery in helping subdue a man who allegedly attacked a Raleigh police officer. Officer D.A. Halprin responded to a call in an apartment complex of an upset man. The man resisted the officer’s efforts to calm him, hitting and scratching the officer. Resisting arrest the man struck the officer several times.

Shane St. Pierre was working nearby on a service call. St. Pierre jumped in to aid Officer Halpin helping to hold the man until more police and emergency personnel reached the scene.

Raleigh police were very appreciative of the bravery and courage of St. Pierre but reminded citizens that the police do not encourage putting yourself in danger.

WRAL in Raleigh covered this story in the evening news segment last year. For the news segment and more information on this story, go to http://www.wral.com/bystander-credited-for-helping-raleigh-police-officer-in-tussle/12725223/.
