Comfort Heating & Air is a well-established 19-year old business that serves the greater Lexington, KY area. The company joined ARS in March and has over 26 employees and 20 trucks. Mike Buckley, head of Comfort Heating & Air, works hard to see the company and his employees succeed, all while providing top notch customer service.
With a strong marketing and business background, Mike was an entrepreneur ready to embark on his next project in 2010. Mike used his skills along with the help of other expert employees to do a top to bottom overhaul of the brand, name, and business. These changes have made Comfort Heating & Air the 5-star, profitable, and virtuous business it is today.
Mike has been married to Kim Buckley for 23 years and they have three children – Chase, 29 years old comfort advisor at Comfort Heating & Air, Taylor, 25 years old, comfort advisor and marketing director at Comfort Heating & Air, and Lindsey, 21 years old, student at the University of Cincinnati. Mike enjoys spending time on the lake and golfing.
How do you maintain your competitive edge?
There are three things a company can do to be successful, but no company can do all three things at once. A company can be low-cost, innovative, or have superior customer service. For example, Apple is innovative and they provide superior customer service, but are high-cost. We are the Apple of the HVAC industry in Kentucky. We are innovative in a sense that we are creative with our marketing and we provide superior customer service.
How do your coworkers inspire you?
We always do right by our employees. They want to be inspired and that is what drives me to motivate them. My employees allow me to help them achieve personal goals they never thought possible like buying a house or adopting a child.
What are three great passions in your life?
My family, creating a future for my employees, and creating a strong business that gives back to our community and does right by our customers.
